About Hilary

Hilary Goyette enjoys working in a broad range of styles to accommodate your project’s needs and always strives to exceed your expectations in every way. Her exceptional artistic talent, professionalism and compassion combined with her precision tattooing makes her one of the most sought after tattoo artists in central Massachusetts.
Growing up in Oxford, Massachusetts, Hilary dreamed of becoming a professional artist and was heavily involved in the art program throughout school, painting the cover of her senior yearbook and designing the pages as co-editor between cheerleading and NJROTC exhibition team practices. She
graduated with honors in ’99 and enjoys tattooing many of her classmates these days!
At Clark University in Worcester, MA, Hilary earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in Peace Studies ’03. She participated in many art exhibitions with her paintings and drawings at this time. She was awarded a scholarship at Clark for a summer program in ’02 and chose to spend the summer studying local art/processes at the University of Hawaii, Manoa. Hilary worked her way through college and for 20+ years as a nanny for a few families and enjoyed sharing her love of art with the children through various projects, talent show productions, haunted houses, and face painting, to name a few.
The positive effects of art with people so intrigued her, Hilary decided to pursue graduate studies in Art Therapy at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. After one year, she decided it wasn’t quite the right fit and took a break to get married and start a family. Itching to get back into painting, Hilary began a career as a paint and sip instructor at Brush-It-Off Paint and Sip Bar in Fiskdale, MA. Here she taught a variety of acrylic paintings/ painting techniques to all ages, while also focusing on giving students a fun experience in a supported environment. During this time, Hilary went through some intense personal issues. She was awarded full custody of her two young children in the divorce from her ex-husband and suddenly found herself a single mom. Continuing work as a nanny/caregiver, paint instructor for Brush-It-Off, and freelance custom mural artist, Hilary began teaching paint classes at Grace Preschool, with her children attending, and teaching more private paint classes.
Hilary was fortunate to have the owner of The Tattoo Project (2010-2023, Highland St., Worcester, MA), Miles Nozzolillo at a private paint class one evening and he agreed to apprentice Hilary in the art of tattooing. After about six months, the other head tattoo artist at the shop, Angel Santana, took over the apprenticeship and her confidence and skill level skyrocketed.
In June 2021, Hilary opened her own business, ArtHilary, located at her friend Danielle White’s all female-owned and operated tattoo studio, Summit Ink and Beauty of Brussels Street, Worcester. The friends love to collaborate on events that give back to the community, like their annual Valentine’s Day flash fundraiser benefitting Abby’s House, a local women and children’s shelter, healing paint nights, and so
much more to come!
Hilary works endlessly to improve her skills as a full time tattoo artist, while also continuously considering the client’s experience. Appreciating the opportunity to help clients talk through life’s struggles, providing a peaceful place to relax and holding space for whatever the day brings while creating beautiful custom artwork is her passion! Essentially caring for the caregivers of our society through creative collaboration has been a huge blessing professionally and personally, second only to her children.
When she isn’t in the studio, you can find her at home where she enjoys spending time and caring for her children, partner, family and friends, by cooking, gardening, getting outside and hosting family events.
As she learned very early on, when life hits hard, creativity is our artillery. Take your power back with ArtHilary.
